June 8: --  MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:

·         President Pete reminded members the Installation Dinner will be held at the home of Steve and Robyn Rosenberg on June 20.  Pete also said painting of the road signs for the July 4 Bike Tour will be done on Saturdays June 20 and June 29 starting at 7:30 a.m. on both days.  A driver is needed plus four painters to ride in the back of the pickup.

Pete introduced our speaker, Dharmesh Madnani, with a few comments of his own, saying that it has been an interesting experience.  Dharmesh has been a delight in most respects.  He is a young man of great talent.  The future of the world will be run by people like Dharmesh.  Most American kids could learn a lot from him.

Dharmesh began by saying "I have learned so much about American customs.  I would love for my children to do this.  My sisters have been on this program.  The eating habits are so different.  It is hard for the host families to prepare food that I would eat.  It is shocking that I am leaving.  I have made friends here.  It will take me some time to realize that now I am back home again."  Ed Kan asked Dharmesh why he had decided to come to the U.S.  Dharmesh replied that he had been working on learning to speak English better.  He said he learned a lot about photography from Chris Bartol.  In Charlotte, he learned about BB games and Hooters.  He said he and friend Diego are going to form an international Hooters.  Dharmesh said it is kind of sad that his tour here is over, but at home he will study for a Masters Degree in Law.

Dharmesh conducted the Sgt. at Arms, receiving several happy and sad $.  The 50-50 pot of $9 was won by Dawson and he donated it back to the club.
