July 27: Meeting Highlights:
The July 27 meeting was attended by 13 members at the Chamber meeting room. Guests were
Master Trooper Darryl Bailey of NC Highway Patrol. He cited the number of law enforcement officer were shot or murdered each year. Guns were not allowed in Federal buildings without special permit. The second Amendmant allows citizens to own guns. Gun safety training is very important. Parents are responsible for gun safety at home. He also demonstrated gun safety for several types of handguns.
President Ann then gave the thought for the day: 1984, Pete Rsoe broke Ty Cobb's hit record of 2503 hits. In 1974, President Nixon was impeached and then resigned.
Sgt. At Arms Highlights: Harry Burnett collected Happy dollars for Polio+, Birthday, sad and DA dollars were collected. The raffle of a bottle of wine was won by Ed Kan and 50-50 pot of was won by Robyn Rosenberg..
